how to felt a bag
I noticed,that you felt differently than we do.So Im going to show you how I do it.This is how I made all of my felted things.The pictures are from the camp where Im teaching every summer felting.Hope you understand,if not feel free to ask!If you would like to come to camp next summer,just send me a message,everyone is welcomed there.

  • Step 1

    Cut the form of the bag from a card board and draw your pattern on it.Remember to cut 3cm bigger card board because,the fleece will shrink.If your done drawing get a bowl of cold water,dip your colored fleece in it and set out your pattern.

    Take your white fleece and tear little pieces from it.

    Put the pieces of fleece on your card board(you know,the one with your pattern on) keep layering it,until its thick enough.3 or 4 times is enough.

    Now get your bowl of warm water and soap.make a foam with your hand and soap and start foaming your bag.Dont stop until it has no dry place on it.

    Now stroke it down with your hands.for the first hour you need to be very gentle,after that you need to poss the foam out.keep stroking the bag for an our or more.Until you notice that it is getting firmer.

    Turn the hole thing on its back.you will see that the fleece got over the card board.You need to fold it on the card board.Its like your wrapping the cardboard up with the fleece.

  • Step 8

    Now you need to do the same thing on this side too.Layer it,soap and stroke it down.You need to stroke it until its firm.

  • Step 9

    So now you need to cut your bag with a pair of scissors.Remember to cut it where you want your bag opening to be.Turn your bag inside carefully out.Now your pattern is on the outside.Get your hands soapy again and stroke it for 3 or 4 hours.Watch out,you need to get your ands inside your bag,it can stuck together if you dont watch.

    Rap the bag in a rag and start pugging it.You need to do that all four sides of your bag.

    After an hour or so,you can start pugging it harder.You need to do that until its so hard that its not stretching.wash it with cold water,dry it on the sun and your bag is done.

By pugging I mean rolling it back and forth...I dont know the right word...>_<
And four sides as 1.the bottom side
2.the side where it opens
3.left side
4.right side

Just 2 questions for step 10: what is 'pugging' and how can a bag like this have 4 sides? Do you mean both sides inside and out?
