These types of images are very popular among the art community. I usually see forestry backgrounds blended into silhouettes. I'm going to break it down very easy for you.

Instructions

First off, you will need two types of images. A background and a black silhouette. You can easily turn any of your images into a silhouette by coloring it black. Then, you will need a photo shop program, picmonkey.com actually has a layer option on their website for free!

Next, you should either copy and paste or create a new layer and add image on top of your silhouette. Some programs allow you to just copy and paste and others make you create a new layer. Either way, you must have two layers: your silhouette and your background.

Place the background image fully over your silhouette.

Then, for the layer options on your background, set it to SCREEN (sometimes LIGHT will work as well).

Once you click that blending option, your images will be merged into a new surrealistic image.

There are so many possibilities! These types of images would make a great framed photo gift. Such as using a child's silhouette and combining it with their favorite toys, using a beloved pet silhouette then maybe collaging different images of that pet into the silhouette, or what I normally see are animal heads blended with water or trees. Have fun!
