I don't have photoshop (mostly because I'd never use it) and sometimes I want a stencil but most tutorials for stencils use photoshop so....I looked some stuff up and... then... this tutorial happened(?). Yeah. Just check it out.

You Will Need (3 things)

  • Computer
  • Ms Paint or something like that
  • Microsft Word

Steps (12 steps, 5 minutes)

  1. 1

If you do not have your image saved to your computer already, go to Google images (or whatever image site you want) and save one to your computer
(Pick one that will be instantly recognized when used as a stencil)

  2. 2

Open MS Paint (or what ever version you have)

  3. 3

Open your image in MS Paint

  4. 4

Zoom in by going to view and selecting Zoom-
Now using the Select tools (Both Box and Free-Form) cut away at the background and unwanted spaces/areas.

  5. 5

Use the box select tool and create a box around your image, right click, and select Copy.

  6. 6

Open Microsoft Word (I have 2003 because my computer is old ._.), right click, and paste your image onto the page.

  7. 7

    Adjust the size and layout.

  8. 8

Right click and select Format Picture

  9. 9

    Change the Color to "Grayscale"
    Turn "Contrast" to 100%
(This is where you start to get a stencil)

  10. 10

You should get something like this
If you are happy with your result- go to step 12
If you think its not 'JUST' right keep going

  11. 11

Optional: Go back to "Format Picture" and change the "Brightness"
This can change the amount of dark and light spaces your stencil has
    -(.__.)-

  12. 12

Copy the image and paste it back into your Paint program
Erase and fill in where needed to achieve desired stencil "look"
This is starting to sound like a beauty tutorial XD The result may not look as good as the 1st "draft" but this will make it easier to use as a stencil.
