Delicious way to use up those uneaten hotcross buns!
If you are ike us and have some uneatern hot cross buns that have lost their softness then make this.

The recipe is adapted from my bread and butter pudding one.

You can also make this using Brioche, you will have to add some dried fruit as well.

  • How to bake a bread pudding. Hotcross Pudding - Step 1
    Step 1

Preheat your oven to Gas Mark 3.

Slice your buns into 2 or 3 pieces and spread with margarine ( I used Pure soya spread).

  • Step 2

Place your bun slices into your dish margarine side down. Cover the sides and base.

Continue until all you slices are used up.

  • Step 3

Now add your eggs to your milk and beat well.

Very carefully pour this over your bun slices, pressing down to prevent the milk spilling over the sides.

  • Step 4

Leave to soak for 30 mins, so the buns absorb the milk and eggs.

  • Step 5

Sprinkle a little mixed spice over the top ad put into the oven and bake for 1 hour or until set and golden brown.
