A backpack style bag made out of an old hoody with no cutting!
So I needed a quick bag for my trip to Disney. I had an old hoody that I wasn't wearing anymore and thought "I bet I could turn this into a bag..." so I played around until I came up with a plan that I liked. The only hard part was sewing the thick fabric.

    Step 1

Okay so get your hoody and unzip it. Lay it flat like the picture. Fold your sleeves in to make straps. Make sure your sleeves are flat and not twisted.

now bring in the other sides and zip it up then pin.

Now you are going to sew! (This is the hard part) Using a stretch stitch you are going to sew the bottom, twice to make it nice and strong. Make sure you adjust the foot level so it can go over the four layers of thick fabric. Also don't go over the zipper you are going to break your needle! If you think the zipper is going to come undone hand sew over it.

Now flip it inside out and admire how good the seam looks after all that hard work!

Now you are going to sew up the top. Fold in the hood (we are going to make it into a pocket later) and arrange the top like shown. Pin it and pull out a hand sewing needle. Sew the top with a pillow stitch so you won't see the thread...

Now you are going to make the pocket. Unzip it enough so you can work. Lay the edge of the hood so that it lines up with the seam you just sewed up top. Pin then sew it using the pillow stitch. Then repeat on the other side. (I hope this made sense)

Now grab the top center of the hood and sew it on so you create a pocket!

Now you can sew around the zipper about halfway down, if you don't want it to open the entire way, or you can just leave it.

Put it on pat yourself on the back and enjoy!! :D
