Yummy Organic Calzone
Organic eating the fun way. :)

I made calzones for my hubby who has been great about my diet changes during my pregnancy and after.

You can adapt this to your tastebuds. :)

  • Step 1

    Make pizza dough.

    1 package active dry yeast
    1 teaspoon organic sugar
    1 cup warm water
    1 tablespoon kosher salt
3 cups organic flour, plus more for dusting

Organic Extra-virgin olive oil (Used last to brush over calzone before baking)

Mix together using bread maker or mixer.

  • Step 2

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F

Once dough is ready, roll out to desired size.

This amount of dough will make four calzones or two large ones. I made two large ones and we could only eat half of them. You can freeze extra dough if it is too much.

  • Step 3

Add desired ingredients to half of your rolled out circle. Make sure to leave the edges clean.

I used organic tomato sauce, organic mozzarella & ricotta cheese, pepperoni & salami

You can use your favorite ingredients. This can easily be made into a veggi calzone.

    Step 4

Once you have all your goodies on the dough, carefully fold the other half of your dough over itself, you basically need to fold it in half.

Fold over the corners and pinch the sides and use a fork to make sure it is sealed. You don't want your food leaking out.

Brush with Organic Extra-virgin olive oil, and sprinkle with cheese.

    Step 5

Bake for 12-15 minutes for 4 calzones. or 20-30 minutes for 2 large calzones.

Dough should be cooked through and golden brown.

    Eat and enjoy!

This is weird, how come I some times only see portions of projects? I, for example, can only see steps 4 and 5 of this project. Happy Some times I only see the last step! This sounds delicious, I just wish I could see the whole of it. Anyone have any ideas?
