You may start with either pre-made boxed cards for embellishing or cut cardstock to your desired card size and fold in half.
Cut a square of decorative paper to just smaller than the front of your card and attach with glue, rolling over firmly with a brayer so you don't get bubbles.
Stamp desired letters, images or words on solid color card stock and sprinkle with embossing powder while still wet. Zap image with a heat gun to set powder.
Cut stamped image out of the cardstock and attach to card with gluedots to get a 3D look. Then add your decorative bits of ribbon, rick rack, or whatever with glue.
*For the gift tags, follow these same steps, but remove the ugly white string and replace it with a pretty ribbon!
