Easily memorizable big leaf lacy shawl that knits up quickly with worsted weight yarn and bigger needles. The border is made up of a slightly elongated leaf pattern. Looks great knit out of a hand dyed yarn. Mine is knit using some reclaimed cotton yarn that I dyed with black walnuts and rit red dye. I love the colors in it. This pattern involves mostly charts for the lace and yarnovers for increases at the beginning, middle and ends of every other row for a traditional triangle shape. Materials **900 yds (approximately) of worsted weight yarn US9 (5.5mm) circular needles, 36in or longer Tapestry needle Gauge 17sts x 17rows = 4 inches using pattern in chart A Doesn’t have to be exactly perfect. Just really close to have enough yarn. Finished Measurements 48in x 27in heavily blocked. **Note: I am guessing on the amount of yarn. I used a reclaimed yarn so I don’t know my yardage.

The first 3 sts and last 3sts are kept in garter stitch throughout. There will be one center stitch. Increases are made using yarnovers and they have been included in the charts. Please be sure to copy charts A and B from the pattern page in the attachments. CO 3 sts. Knit 6 rows. Pick up and knit 3sts from long edge and 3 sts from CO edge. (9sts) Row 1 : K3, pm, knit row 1 of chart A, pm, k1, pm, repeat row 1 of chart A, pm, k3 Row 2 : k3, purl all stitches to last 3sts slipping markers when you come to them, k3 Continue in this pattern purl the even rows until you have com- pleted chart A 6 times. Now knit chart B 1 time. The final 2 rows of the shawl have different stitch counts. Just follow the repeat patterns for each row as indicated, still purling the even rows (row 16 & 18). NOTE : the established decrease sts (the slip 1, k2tog, pass slipped stitch over) should continue to match up in the final 2 rows. The additional decreases in row 17 are to even back out the stitches added in row 15. BO very loosely. I used needles 2 sizes larger to get a good loose bind off. Weave in ends and block to measurements.
