Get a Totebag or make one....I made one but dipped it in very light yellow dye....just for a second..to get that aged effect.
Draw or trace on your crest.Now just fill !!!!!! I used fabric paint.The outer rim of the crest looks best in a sober metallic color.
Take a pencil and draw lines in the background .....average scale thickness.i somehow made it so the only line completely out of the crest range(right below it)was where I wrote the Latin motto.
On the lines....in coordinating colors(slytherin green ravenclawblue hufflepuff yellow and gryffindor gold) write stuff bout the houses.i wrote their names,animals,traits,horcruxes. If it comes under the crest.....then good.you want it to look as if you just pasted a crest on top of it.at the very bottom,in black, I wrote the English translation of the school motto and then at the bottom...the school motto itself.This step may sound confusing( or is that just me?)but the pics should help.
Write all that stuff in permanent marker and in soft colors...you want it to look faded.like someone took an old bag and stuck a crest sticker on it.
Write 'Hogwarts' in the bottom with two hearts.
Go to the back of the bag.here,I simply drew lines again and painted every other stripe black .Then in the white stripes I wrote the people who died.i kinda ran out of names...which is why cress well is there.The ones we loved have hearts over them. P s the stripes painting is easier if you use that masking tape thing.
Now take your black ribbon and sew him on the top of the bag(the rim). If you want....add a black bow to the top.i did this on mine....but not my friend's as she hates any thing girly. Ta Da! You have the coolest bag ever!!!!
