About

My mum showed me how to do this when me and my brothers were kids. Recently my boyfriend and I are trying to do more home-cooking and I remembered these and gave them a go!
You can use your own bread recipe, I usually make mine up a bit as I go, but I've included here a nice basic recipe as written here

You Will Need (6 things)

  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 320 g Flour
  • 7 g Yeast
  • 225 ml warm Water
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tsp Salt

Steps (6 steps, 40 minutes)

  1. 1

Make the bread dough. Refer to the link if you need to. Leave it to rise.

  2. 2

Flour the worksurface and knead the dough to knock the air out of it, and divide it into balls, a little bigger than a tennis ball.

  3. 3

Roll one end of the ball gently between your hands to make it more pointed, this will be the snout.

  4. 4

Use kitchen scissors to snip small spikes all back along the body of the hedgehog.

  5. 5

Put them on baking trays and into the oven at 180 degrees celcius for about half an hour, or until the outside is golden-brown.

  6. 6

Allow to cool and then use in lunchboxes and as dinner rolls!
