These little wall organizers are so fun to make! With customizable pockets and pops of color these are the perfect way to store supplies in the craft room.
Create some paper templates for the pocket shapes. I chose to make heart shaped pockets, and discovered the best way to create an even shape is to fold the paper in half and then draw half of the shape on one side. Keeping the paper folded, cut out the shape and when you open the paper both sides will be like a mirror image.
Next, trace around the shapes onto the felt and cut out the pockets. Arrange them onto a piece of fabric to figure out how large you want the wall organizer to be. Then trim the fabric to size, pin the pockets onto the fabric and sew them in place.
Place a piece of batting under the wall organizer front and pin around the edges. Attach the two with a wide zig zag stitch. Take two small pieces of ribbon, about four inches long, and fold them in half. Sew them onto the top edge of the organizer, with the fold facing inward onto the quilt.
Trim the excess batting, pin the organizer to the backing fabric right sides together and sew around the edges. Leave a six inch opening to turn the organizer right side out. Then turn the organizer to the right side, sew around all the edges with a decorative stitch and close the opening.
