You tooth pick or skewer will need to have one flat end. If you do not have a flat ended skewer or toothpick, you will need create one. Cut the pointed end of one side off of your toothpick or skewer.
Sand down your cut area so that it is smooth and flat.
Dip flat end into paint and press against fabric (I recommend practicing on some old fabric or paper first) Repeat, placing another circle right beside the first.
Using the pointed end of your skewer or toothpick, bring the two circles together by creating a triangle to form a heart.
Repeat until you are pleased with the desired placement and overall look.
