Cut Out + Keep

Harry Potter Trunk...Pimped Out

I relined an old trunk...

I bought this trunk from a stall at a car boot sale for £12. The inside was badly stained, torn and smelly, so I tore out the old paper lining and re-lined it with some wrapping paper that I saw in a shop recently. (Its of jelly beans) Cause the design isn't a pattern, I got away with sticking small patches of it down at a time, this was handy when it came to corners, the straps and the curved base. I glued it with wallpaper paste and is holding up pretty well. There was a massive hole/crack in the top, so I made a plaque shape for the top, sanded the lid down and glued it on, drilling screws through to make sure it was secure, that is the white block on one of the shots. I plan to paint my name on it. I am planning on using it for clothes storage. The lid was painted black, but scraped off easily, so I attacked it with some white spirit, to find scratched white letters underneath, I can only make out "Mr S. Johnstone....Chare Road....Brandon Colliery, Durham" I make in future paint the straps inside red. It came with a draw that sits inside, I am currently covering this also...pictures will follow :)
