Handmade Brooches from vintage materials and felt!
I just want to help people to take life a little less seriously and to just have fun!

Posted by Happy Place Design from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States • Published See Happy Place Design's 5 projects »

  • Step 1

I cut out a variety of silly shapes out of felt.

  • Step 2

I use a hot glue gun to attach silver pins (that I bought at Michaels) to the backs of each of the felt shapes.
I let them sit for just a few moments to dry before I continue.

  • Step 3

I cut out various shapes out of vintage fabrics and collect the vintage buttons I want to use that coordinate with the fabrics and felt.

  • Step 4

I attach the vintage button in the center of the brooch on top of 2 layers of vintage fabrics with the felt being on the bottom layer.

  • Step 5

I whipstich the edge of the felt layer of fabric using embroidery thread and a large embroidery needle.

  • Step 6

    Then I wear it! :)
