I made a small steampunk bonnet out of sheer curiosity one day with ome scraps of olive green taffeta and i was hooked on miniature millinery. This mini top hat s one of my faves that i had made. The taffeta for it was grey with a thin black stripe but not quite a pinstripe. This still doesn't have the hatband on it as the buyer chooses colour. I love working in taffeta as it has a crisp finish and not too shiny lustre. I pattern make and cut out and then hand wire each hat. I have several other designs and i'm producing a couple of full sized top hats as well.
