Instructions

  1. Small halo helmet 20

PATTERN ;If you Google search Halo Helmet you will find the pattern and many like it. ------------------- = mountain bend. A bend in the shape of a ^, bend downwards. .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-. = valley bend. A bend in the shape of a v, bend upwards. _____________________ = cut line. Cut straight through the card.

  2. Small 027

Print off the pattern pieces onto card. If you don't have card or your printer will not take card then print onto normal thickness A4 paper and glue onto card. Cut out the pieces. Score & bend the pieces on the marked lines. I found it best to start with the larger front, top pieces and work backwards.

  3. Small 026

Glue or tape the pieces together matching the numbers. Cover the finished paper helmet with fiberglass, wood glue or paper mache which ever one suits you best.

  4. Small 024

The helmet will require a few coats of fiberglass. This will require time to dry between applications.

  5. Small halo helmet 8

Once completely dry it is advisable to sand the helmet as you will probably have a few drips and bumps that are not supposed to be there.

  6. Small halo helmet 14

We used paper mache inside of the helmet. Again this requires drying time. I don't think this would be necessary if we had used white/coloured card. The cereal boxes just don't look too professional.

  7. Small halo helmet 13

Once all coating's are completely dry and sanded you can go ahead with the paint job. We used metallic spray paint. It gives a little depth & shine to the finished paint job.

Once complete you can either fill the front space with a perspex visor, fill with the paper cut out provided or leave the space open it is up to you.
