These cupcakes are nothing short of amazing! They're are light and dense and airy and rich. I cannot say enough good things about them and their delicious flavor. You can skip the icing if you like, but it does add a bit of extra flavor.

    Your cupcake ingredients.

  2. Small 108079 2f2015 03 19 142151 img 5446

Melt your butter and beer on the stovetop over medium heat. Turn off the heat and whisk in cocoa powder and brown sugar. Let mixture cool.

  3. Small 108079 2f2015 03 19 142201 img 5448

In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking soda and salt until well combined. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, combine flour mixture with stout mixture, eggs and sour cream.

  4. Small 108079 2f2015 03 19 142219 img 5451

Scoop batter into muffin tin lined with cupcake liners. Bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes.

Beat butter until light and fluffy. Slowly add icing sugar and mix on low until frosting has come together. Add Irish cream liqueur and mix until combined.
