Ground Turkey Stuffed Peppers

Savory stuffed peppers for two! with bacon!

About

Another of my dinners for two---that's all I ever cook! I found out that ground turkey is a leaner, lighter alternative to ground beef that can be just as good and flavorful if it is prepared right. I feel healthier eating it, although I admit in this recipe I sort of ruined that with the bacon and spice.

You Will Need (6 things)

  • Worcestershire And Lemon Juice
  • 1 Onion
  • Spices
  • Bread Crumbs
  • 2 Large Bell Peppers
  • 1 lbs Ground Turkey

Steps (6 steps, 65 minutes)

  1. 1

    Assemble your ingredients!
    2 bell peppers
    1 white or yellow onion
    1 lb. ground turkey
    grated cheese
    bacon bits
    lemon juice
    cajun seasoning
    old bay
    ground pepper
    bread crumbs
    kosher salt
    worcestershire

I don't normally use quite so many seasonings, but since turkey is bland compared to beef I spiced it up.

  2. 2

Peel and chop your onion. Wash the peppers, cut off the tops, and scrape out the seeds and innards! If you want, boil them briefly in salted water.

  3. 3

Mix together the ground turkey, chopped onion, and seasonings. Add a splash of lemon juice and two of worcestershire and mix some more. This works best if done by hand although it is a bit yicky.

  4. 4

Stuff hollow peppers with turkey mixture.

  5. 5

Top with bacon bits and grated cheese, place in foil lined baking dish, and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

  6. 6

Remove from oven, let cool for a few minutes (those little mamas will be piping hot inside!), and enjoy!
