Description

Take 30 minutes, some glitter fabric and sprinkle in some 50's magic and make heads turn with your very own LOVE hair accessory!

Instructions

All you need for this project is some glitter fabric, glue, scissors, a hair slide and a pencil. Most of these things can be found in craft shops or ebay, but you can also get the fabric at www.josyrose.com

To draw out your shape, flip the glitter fabric over onto the felt side. Using a pencil, sketch out a large arrow. This one measures around 9 cm in length and 4 cm wide at the top for guidance. As you're drawing on the back, remember your shape will be backwards when you cut it out.

When you're happy with the shape, carefully cut around the lines using a sharp pair of scissors. Dont worry if some glitter comes off, this fabric is so plastered with the stuff it wont be noticeable!

Turn the arrow over and place it glitter side down on the fabric. Using your pencil, sketch out a rectangular shape. The vintage signs in the 50's tend to embrace shapes that taper in at the sides, so I drew mine wider at the top than the bottom. For guidance, this rectangle is around 6cm by 4cm. Feel free to make bigger for your head though :D

Cut out the rectangle and flip it over. Try positioning the arrow on the top a few times to see where it sits best. When you're happy with it, super glue it on. Easy!

To add your slogan, cut out a piece of glitter fabric that fits within your rectangle. When you cut out the letters it will be slightly thinner in length than the piece you're cutting from, so don't be afraid to cut it to the full width.

The easiest way to cut out the letters is to do it with the glitter side facing you. You can't really draw on the glitter side, so practice drawing out the letters a few times on a scrap of paper before cutting your material. Remember, capital letters are easier to cut out! Once you've got the hang of it, take your scissors to the fabric and take your time cutting out each letter. When done, arrange them on the rectangle and glue down each part.

Once all the pieces of your creation have dried, put a good amount of super glue onto your metal hair clip, flip it over and press it down onto place on the back of your fabric....

*TA*DA* Once it's dried you can pop it in your victory rolls and hit the town. Cute, huh! Well done dolly xox
