Description

Glazed sweet sausage bites with a spicy kick. Worthy of a wedding reception, but humble and easy enough for game day appetizers. Recipe adapted from Jacques Pepin's More Fast Food My Way.

Instructions

  1. Small 102401 2f2014 06 15 204136 sausagebites6

Combine the juice, ketchup or chipotle sauce, maple syrup, and tabasco in medium skillet.

  2. Bring mixture to a boil. Let boil 4-5 minutes or until syrup begins to form.

  3. Taste the syrup. If you like more spice, add a few more dashes of tabasco. If it's too spicy, add a little more maple syrup.

  4. Small 102401 2f2014 06 15 204259 sausagebites5

Add the slices of sausage to the syrup. Cook the sausages on high heat. Turn a few times so the syrup covers all sides well.

  5. Small 102401 2f2014 06 15 204308 sausagebites4

Continue cooking until the syrup reduces almost completely and coats the sausages completely. About 5-8 minutes.

    Serve with toothpicks and enjoy!
