Reuse those old jeans
I saw this on http://youcanmakethis.com
and thought, looks easy enough. you can actually purchase this pattern there if you can't follow me.
Unfortunately i forgot to take pictures as i went along, but i will give you some diagrams and some fine instructions.
I make these for my girls, they really love them.

Step 1First choose a pair of jeans that fit. Choose 2 or 3 different pattern material. i normally rummage through wal-mart's $1 fabric.
Choose Fabric that Matches. you can do a red, white, blue, or red and pink. whatever you like.

Step 2Cut your jeans where you would like to add the material. I like cutting right to the crotch line. you may want it longer. How ever you do it, just dont cut the crotch. or you'll have a skirt.

Step 3Now take your measurements. Measure around the leg hole. and measure from the end of the jeans to how far you want the gaucho to be. i normally go just below the knee.

Step 4Now lets say the circumstance of the pant leg hole is 24 inches, and the lenght you want to add is 32 inches.
Take some A4 paper of regular printer paper (tape a few sheets together).
Make a 4 Inch line across.
and at an angle go down 32 inches. your basically making a flat top triangle. -
Step 5After you get your pattern drawn, take it to your material. this is where the hole measurements come in.
Now we have a 4 inch top triangle, but we will have an inseam of an inch on each side, so it will leave use with a 2 inch top.
Since our measurement was 24 inches we will need 12 triangles to cut.
So if you are using 2 different fabric, cut 12 of each fabric (remember 2 leg holes) if 3 different fabric cut 8 of each. etc. -
Step 6so now you have your fabric cut.
Take the amount needed for one leg and sew the long sides together. Place right sides together, then sew it will form a circle.
you got to do this twice. on for each leg.
One thing is if you dont have a serger use an overcast stitch after you sew each triangle. so you would be sewing it twice, it just gives you a stronger stitch and a better finish.

Step 7ok so now you have 2 circles of triangles. all there is left is to sew them to the legs.
Place right sides together pin in place and sew them around. use the same overcast stitch or serger with this too.
do to other leg.
all thats left is to hem the gaucho leg up.
Use an Iron and fold twice. stitch around.

Step 8If i have explained it right, and you understood, your project should look something like this.

Its in made from jeans section.Save the spare jean cut offs, you can make a cute top out of it.
Use the seam at the bottom for straps, add a zipper or snaps. use you imagination.
