Description

I made this for my son when he was 7. He loved so many colors I wanted him to have something fun in his room. This can be made in all shapes, and colors to match the decor.

Instructions

Cut out your felt pieces. I lost count on how many I used.It came out to a gallon size ziplock bag. This part took the longest, I cut the pieces out for a couple days when I sat & watched tv. I decided to go with square shaped & I made them in various sizes.

Use a strong durable string in your machine. (I used thick embroidery thread.) Start sewing your pieces together leaving a small space in between pieces. Depending on the look you are going for, I'm sure you can overlap pieces too. Now just sew until your desired length is reached. If you don't have a sewing machine, you could hand sew the pieces together. If you decide to do this. I recommend using embroidery floss as well. (2-5 strands)

  3. Small 7 20 08 006 1268805351

Depending on how wide your dowel is. Make enough strands to go evenly across the dowel.

Sorry no close up pics of what I did with the dowel.. With the dowel, I used a nail file to file in notches where the strands could sit in. I then double knotted it into place, and used craft glue to secure them in. Then I picked a yarn color that would go well w/ the colors I had of felt (in this case red), and proceeded to wrap the yarn around the dowel to cover it completely. I used a little glue here and there to keep the yarn in place.

I hung this up with more yarn & thumbtacks.
