  • How to sew a fabric basket. Frozen Style Fabric Basket - Step 1
    Step 1

I cut out x 2 pieces of fabric the same size.
and 1 thinner piece of voile which will is the fold down piece.
    1 suedette and 1 velvet,
*On hindsight I would recommend using stiffening on any thinner fabric, the velvet it was hell to work with*
i haven't given sizes as you can do to any size you want really. great for using up small pieces of fabric.
I would usually do a contrasting fabric but I went with a suedette fabric for the outside and velvet for the inside.
*I thought the suedette would be stiff enough but no I don't think it was*

    Step 2

I stitched a piece of sparkly fabric onto the velvet material which is going to be on the inside. I only sewed the top and bottom of the Leave the side seams open to put the sparkly in later.

    Step 3

Get your other piece of fabric which is going to be the outside of your basket and pin and sew right sides together along the shortest side which will be the top of the basket (which will be folded over at the end)

    Step 4

open out the 2 pieces of fabric and pin and along the opposite side and this seam will become the back of the basket inside and out

  • How to sew a fabric basket. Frozen Style Fabric Basket - Step 5
    Step 5

I put loads of snowflake confetti inside the pocket that was made earlier in step 2 while it was still pinned together, then I sewed all the way across the 2 pieces of fabric so it was like one big piece with an opening at each end.

    Step 6

Once you have sewn it together, arrange so that the one big seam is down the middle and press. you will then need to pin and sew the seam of the main fabric which is white on the picture

    Step 7

Now the tricky bit. you need to open the seam after you have sewn it like in the picture and this will be the base of the basket and mark it

  • How to sew a fabric basket. Frozen Style Fabric Basket - Step 8
    Step 8

On the other end of your tube of fabric you will need to leave a hole to pull the fabric the right side out

  • How to sew a fabric basket. Frozen Style Fabric Basket - Step 9
    Step 9

Pull all fabric through the hole and then hand sew or machine stitch the hole up, whichever you prefer.

    Step 10

I did mine on the machine not so good at hand stitching :P

    Step 11

Press and turn over the top to make a sort of cuff and all finished.

Fill with Frozen goodies which I still have to get.

Oh joy just when i had finished this, postman came with my new fabric which has actually got snowflakes printed on. So now I will have to make another one.

    ENJOY
