After I finished the exterior of a Metal Vintage Suitcase I felt it was time to redo the interior to be just as fun as the outside, with some map decoupage.

I had refinished the exterior of this Vintage suitcase and wanted to use it for storage. This is what the suitcase looked like before. The paper was pretty and vintage but it was also peeling badly. I had to remove as much of the old paper as possible before proceeding.

I chose to freshen up the suitcase with old maps of Greece because they have a lot of blue and also cause I had lots of them around. One of my favorite things to do is use up what I have and I had plenty of these. I applied mod podge to the suitcase and placed the maps inside. I then added a few coats of mod podge as a top coat.

I made sure to go over the metal piece with the metallic paint that I had used on the exterior of the suitcase.

Once the mod podge had dried I knew I wanted to use this suitcase to store my sewing notions inside. Using a few tin cans, boxes and jars to help organize the interior was all it took. Because let's face it there was no way all my craft items would fit in there.
