Description

This is an easy recipe that you can do the night before so that it will be ready the morning of and it only uses the sort of things you would normally have on hand for breakfast anyway.

Instructions

The ingredients. I also used some of my Vanilla Sugar for this recipe.

  2. Small 107673 2f2015 02 25 160837 img 5040

Take whatever bread you've got lying around and cut it into one inch thick slices.

  3. Small 107673 2f2015 02 25 160905 img 5049

    Allow it to become "stale".

  4. Small 107673 2f2015 02 25 160946 img 5067

Chop the stale bread into inch sized pieces or so, mine are a little bigger because that was the aesthetic I was going for. Place bread cubes in a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish.

  5. Small 107673 2f2015 02 25 161019 img 5071

In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla and salt.

  6. Small 107673 2f2015 02 25 161105 img 5079

    Pour over bread.

Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight. Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Dot with butter. Combine sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over the top. Cover and bake at 350° for 45-50 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Let stand for 5 minutes.
