Fleece is stretchy and tends to bunch up ripple and sag when you try to sew on it. A quick way to handle that is to out line the deign in thread before you embroider your design.

As the fabric is stretchy --- it will Pop stitches as it stretches. So sew slow and don't pull as you draw out your design. every few stitches back sew... If hand sewing - a running back stitch works very well.
once you've done a nice outline --- do a tight zigzag also known as satin stitch. Try to do a tight zigzag but not too tight your going to want to sew forward and back just like the chain under -this will help make nice even lines with out the fabric getting stuck or getting bunched up or catching causing huge knots.
the best advice for sewing curves is sew slowly... to turn a corner put the needle down lift the foot, line up where you want to sew lower the foot its helpful to do one or two stitches by hand just slowly roll forward 2-3 stitches as this is where designs tend to snag.
fleece is not the easiest thing to work with... it can be super simple as the edges don't fray so for no sew its great If you wanna get fancy - enjoy
