I painted this for my Mommas birthday a couple of years back. She is a big fan of Leicester City Football Club, whose nickname is "The Foxes". They play in blue, so i made the background blue. The seemingly random patterns are actually letters... its the word FOXES The background stippled effect was a pure accident. One of my cats walked all over the canvas as it was drying, and in a panic, i dabbed a water soaked tissue over the surface. I should have just left it and done another coat, but aforementioned cat had chewed the tube of lagoon blue, and i'd thrown it away before he decided it was delicious enough to chew again :) Anyhoo, the water soaked tissue picked up bits of the paint, and left a really funky effect, so i did it all over the canvas and hey presto! A beautiful mistake :)
