Description

Oh, I have always wanted one of these, but being the crafty one, I refused to pay so much for something I could easily make cheaply. I think it turned out quite well...

Instructions

  1. Small dscf0359 1281102249

First, get your piece of felt that you wish to use. You won't need much! Also, grab a piece of paper and cut out a small triangle.

  2. Small dscf0360 1281102379

Get a piece of chalk and draw around your triangle as many times as you like, each triangle is a petal. I did 6 triangles. I prefer to use chalk as it rubs out easily whereas pen smudges and often doesn't wash away.

  3. Small dscf0361 1281102471

    Cut out your triangles!

  4. Small dscf0362 1281102559

Take one triangle and fold it in half. I put a pin through it to keep it in place.

  5. Small dscf0366 1281102652

This picture might be little difficult to see. But along the bottom of your triangle sew with your needle and thread.

  6. Small sewn 1281103521

Here is where you should have sewn.

  7. Small dscf0365 1281103611

Open up the folded triangle to get a petal that looks like this.

  8. Small dscf0369 1281103655

Do this to all of your triangles so you end up with petals.

  9. Small sew 1281104055

Take two petals and place them together to they're pointing in the same direction. Sew along the edge(not your finger!)

  10. Small dscf0373 1281104132

    It should look like this.

  11. Small dscf0374 1281104163

Take the two that you've sewn together and sew on another petal to the egde like you did before.

  12. Small dscf0376 1281104222

Continue to sew on petals until you have run out. Next is the tricky bit...

  13. Small dscf0378 1281104265

You now have to sew the last petal and the first petal together. (It doesn't matter if it's untidy as you won't see it)

  14. Small dscf0379 1281104319

Begin to warm up your glue gun and choose your gem!

  15. Small dscf0381 1281104438

Glue your gem to the centre of your flower using the glue gun.

  16. Small dscf0384 1281108740

Flip it over and carefully use the glue gun to put some glue on the back.

  17. Small dscf0386 1281108892

While the glue is wet, take your hair grip/slide (whatever you wish to call it) and gently pull it so it makes a 'V' shape and only one part of the grip will be stuck. Stick the bumpy or zig-zag side so you are able to put it in your hair.

Your flower should now be complete and look like this. Enjoy!
