Cute little costume for Halloween or whatever

This is a cute flapper girl costume that I made for my new ETSY site. But my sister liked it so much that I ended up making one for her (she's the model). I didn't use a pattern, my mother taught me how to sew without one, but if you think you are not up to the challenge of sewing one of these, then for about the cost of just the materials you can have one that will out last a cheep store bought one by visiting www.etsy.com/shop/OaktopiaDesign

Description

This is a cute flapper girl costume that I made for my new ETSY site. But my sister liked it so much that I ended up making one for her (she's the model). I didn't use a pattern, my mother taught me how to sew without one, but if you think you are not up to the challenge of sewing one of these, then for about the cost of just the materials you can have one that will out last a cheep store bought one by visiting www.etsy.com/shop/OaktopiaDesign

Instructions

  1. I took a tank top and traced it out on butchers paper (but news paper works too) and drew the length of the dress to be longer than the tank

  2. Then I carefully cut this image out of the poly blend black fabric. It's important that the poly blend fabric has some stretch to it.

  3. then with right sides together I sewed the dress together, turned it right side out and started sewing the fringe on the dress (start at the bottom & because it's a poly blend fabric used for the dress no hem is needed.

  4. when you reach the arm pit area, you need to sew the fringe up along the straps and across the neckline.

  5. add some accessories and you are good to go.
