Description

believe it or not, this hat only took 8 rows. It the easiest hat ive ever made in my like. I can make a pattern if anybody wants one.

Instructions

  1. ch enough to go around your head where you want it to be. LOOSELY! Join edges to make a ring. I adore lion brand wool-ease for this beret, so soft and luscious :)

  2. Small 410 1238189667

DC twice into each stitch all around. Join row.

  3. DC twice into each stitch, and *DC THREE TIMES into one stitch* 5 times. Spread them out, or divvy em' up, just don't put all of the three-ers together, or you'll have a lumpy beret. join row or whatever its called. It should be a mostly flat circle with a hole in it, like above. It should NOT be curling up.

  4. Now DC two stitches together until end of row. I'm not crazy, well maybe a little ;), but this is how you do it. join row.

  5. DC two stitches until end of row, but *DC THREE stitches together* five times. Spread em' out, or you can get all mathy or whatev. Makes a smidgen of sense, huh? No, it doesn't? Oh, OK. Join row.

  6. SC two stitches together until you get a little hole or nub, whichever way you like your berets. You can get a tapestry needle, go in every stitch and tug, or you can just fasten off.

  7. Small 160167924 e237d923ea 1238268265

DAISY ATTACK! You arent done yet, but to reward your work, have a gerbera.

  8. You remember where you joined that big ring in step 1? well, SC once in there. Now, SC and dec wherever you feel it needs decreasing so it fits your head snugly. When you're done with that, you can SC for two rows so it will have some more grip on your head, or you can fasten off at the end of this one SC row. Confused? Just SC dec wherever needed to give the beret more beret-ness, and SC all other stitches. Got it. Sre hope so, i suck at explaining :)fasten off

congrats! You've got a beret! To celebrate your effort, here's a picture of a snugly baby!
