Celebrate with a fireworks embroidery

My husband used to see fireworks ALL the time, just on random evenings driving on the interstate. I always thought that was meaningful for him, so I made him this embroidery. It's a great project to start out with in embroidery and only uses freeform straight stitching.

Description

My husband used to see fireworks ALL the time, just on random evenings driving on the interstate. I always thought that was meaningful for him, so I made him this embroidery. It's a great project to start out with in embroidery and only uses freeform straight stitching.

Instructions

  1. Choose a fabric as the background for the embroidery, and sew a sturdy fabric like canvas to back it. Simply pin the fabrics together and use a zig zag stitch around the edges.

  2. Sketch out some basic drawings of fireworks to use as a sort of pattern. There are tons of photos for inspiration online. Then simply enjoy some basic hand stitching, using embroidery floss in different colors.
