I wear fingerless gloves all the time, but I never really came across a dressy but inexpensive pair. I originally was going to sew on the pearls and flower, but I decided it was more versatile to have separate bracelet and glove. I didn't buy real pearls. Just cheap pearl-like beads. Who can tell :-P My measurement scheme isn't great, but it gives you an idea.

I wear fingerless gloves all the time, but I never really came across a dressy but inexpensive pair. I originally was going to sew on the pearls and flower, but I decided it was more versatile to have separate bracelet and glove. I didn't buy real pearls. Just cheap pearl-like beads. Instructions

I wanted mine to be elbow length so I took my first measurement near my elbow fold. Then I took another measurement 3" down and then another about 3" down. I also measured the biggest part of my hand, just where the thumb starts. I found that the hand measurement was close to the lower arm measurement so my glove is tapered at the top and then straight. With a shorter glove or stretchier material you could probably do a tube. For me my measurements were 12.5", 11" and 9" (around). So I added an extra half inch to each and drew the horizontal lines. Then I drew the outside (dotted line) and cut out the glove.

Hem the top and bottom. Fold glove in half and pin the seam together with the wrong side facing out. Put on the glove and determine the start and end of the thumb hole. Mark those two points (red arrows). Starting at the elbow end, sew until you reach the start of the thumb hole. Take out glove and center the needle on the thumb hole end point. Sew the rest of the glove.

  3. Small overcast 1282707329

To finish the thumb hole, stitch (by hand) around the hole using the overcast stitch. Repeat this and previous steps for other glove.

  4. Make three bracelets. Make sure they fit over the glove and that they fit snuggly but not tight.

  5. Small rose 1282708833

Use leftover stretch fabric to make rose. Cut a strip about 1" wide and about 20" long (you can always trim it). Roll the beginning together and glue it together. Keep winding the fabric around the middle twisting and folding as you go to give it character. Glue it down fairly often as you roll the fabric around the center.

I had tulle left over from a previous project so I glued that to the back of the rose. Hold the bracelets together and glue the rose on. Use a lot of glue but don't burn yourself! Wait until the glue has completely dried to move. The End :-)
