Description

You can increase the size of the roses by using bigger circles. The roses can be used as a brooch for a sweater or glued onto a headband. :-)

Instructions

  1. Small step 1 1306698791

Use a cup as a guide and trace a circle on your first sheet of felt. Then flip over your cup and trace a smaller circle on your second sheet of felt.

  2. Small step 2 1306698901

Now cut out those two circles.

  3. Small step 3 1306698920

Starting from the outside, cut in a spiral motion towards the middle of the circle.

  4. Small step 4 1306698961

Repeat with your second circle and you should have something that looks like this.

  5. Small step 5 1306698996

Again, working from the outside in...twist and twirl your felt into a rose shape. (see picture as guide if needed)

  6. Small step 6 1306699039

Add glue to the last few twirls of your rose, and seal with extra felt from the "tail". (see image as guide)

  7. Small step 7 1306699066

Repeat twirling with the second rose...

  8. Small step 8 1306699139

and glue only for the last few twirls...

  9. Small step 9 1306699203

Now cut out a small rectangle of felt to cover your hair-clip with.

  10. Small step 10 1306699231

Glue the rectangle onto the hair-clip, then apply more glue to stick on the roses.

  11. Small step 11 1306699258

Stick on your roses as desired and let dry. *Hint-let your hair-clip dry while snapped shut or else there will be a gap between your roses.

  12. Small step 12 1306699344

Clip in your hair! You can add more roses, or use bigger roses to make a bolder statement. Felt leaves may also be used as added decoration. :-) If you enjoyed this tutorial, check out my blog at... missyellowshoes.blogspot.com
