How to make a kitty doll body!

I made this so I could make Hello Kitty dolls for my Etsy, but I figured I could share the plain ol' body with you guys--if you want to make it Hello Kitty for yourself, I'm not telling you how! >:D Otherwise it's just a basic stuffed kitty body. :)

I made this so I could make Hello Kitty dolls for my Etsy, but I figured I could share the plain ol' body with you guys--if you want to make it Hello Kitty for yourself, I'm not telling you how! >:D Otherwise it's just a basic stuffed kitty body. :)

Instructions

  1. Small 7167

Cut pieces. You will need two each of the arms, soles, body, and head, and four of the leg pieces.

  2. Small 7169

Start by whip stitching the soles of the feet to the bottom of the leg pieces, and then whip stitch the front and back of the legs together. Leave the top open for stuffing.

  3. Small 7170

Stuff the legs. Make sure you get them full so they will be shapely and support the body.

  4. Small 7171

Fold in half and whip stitch the arms, leaving the end open for stuffing.

  5. Small 7172

Stuff the arms making sure they are nice and full. Don't forget to make sure some stuffing ends up in the thumb.

  6. Small 7173

Backstitch the arms and legs shut. Do the arms on an angle, otherwise they will stick straight out of the body and not angle down (or up, whichever you choose).

  7. Small 7174

Line up and pin the body pieces together, then begin pinning the arms and legs down and sewing them into place. You may find it difficult to pin all of the limbs to the body at once, so try one or two at a time.

  8. Small 7175

Use a backstitch to attach the limbs, and a whip stitch for the sides of the body/between the legs.

  9. Small 7176

Stuff the body, making sure it's nice and full so it will support the head.

  10. Small 7177

    Backstitch the neck shut.

  11. Small 7178

Whip stitch the head pieces together, leaving an opening just wide enough for the neck to fit into. Then stuff it, making sure it's nice and full, otherwise it will flop on the body.

  12. Small 7179

Backstitch the head to the neck, making sure that it's securely attached.

  13. Small 7180

And you're done! I'm not going to show you how I made the rest, but I'm giving you a blank canvas so you can be creative! Enjoy!
