Description

Try hot glue or fabric glue for a no-sew version. :)

Instructions

  1. Small dsc 4103

You'll need felt in different colors, elastic (flat or round), needle and thread, scissors, and the mask pattern (provided).

  2. Small dsc 4099

Download the template for the bird mask here. Cut out the parts for your mask.

  3. Small dsc 4102

Attach the elastic. If you choose to use flat elastic, sew it to the inside of the back half of the mask. If you choose to use round elastic, make a knot in the elastic at both ends. The knot will keep the elastic from slipping through the stitches. The round elastic with knots will be attached as you sew.

  4. Small dsc 4105

Sew the mask parts together. I sewed the outside of the mask first then sewed around the eyes. I also double up on my thread when threading my needle. Don't forget to include the elastic (if you used the round kind) and the beak.

  5. Small dsc 4106

This isn't part of the pattern, but you might want to add a few "feathers" or other decoration.

  6. Small dsc 4107

    All finished!
