This simple yet stunning pendant needs nothing more than a chain to suspend it from to finish the look. The hardest part of this project is deciding which bead caps work with your chosen bead. Check your local bead store to see what they have in stock and play around with them until the bottle looks right to you. String some upside down, string some the right way up - experiment until you're happy! Get creative with the beads you choose too! They don't have to be hollow - they just need to be interesting shapes.

Description

This simple yet stunning pendant needs nothing more than a chain to suspend it from to finish the look. The hardest part of this project is deciding which bead caps work with your chosen bead. Check your local bead store to see what they have in stock and play around with them until the bottle looks right to you. String some upside down, string some the right way up - experiment until you're happy! Get creative with the beads you choose too! They don't have to be hollow - they just need to be interesting shapes.

Instructions

  1. Small 107535 2f2015 02 17 030135 1 materials wm

I've used a 20x12mm hollow glass bead, a 4mm medium blue bicone crystal and a 6mm navy bicone crystal. For the bead caps, I used two 16mm flat bead caps, an adustable leaf cap, a 7mm cone, a cupped leaf bead cap and three 5mm cones.

  2. Small 107535 2f2015 02 17 030602 2 create stem wm

Create the base and stem for the perfume bottle. String a large, flat bead cap as the base. Form the stem from a variety of bead caps and the 6mm crystal - string some so that they are the right way up and some so they are they are upside down.

  3. Small 107535 2f2015 02 17 030843 3 cup focal wm

Create the focal. I've added a cupped leaf bead cap at the base, a large flat bead cap, the focal bead and an adjustable 3 leaf bead cap to add interest.

  4. Small 107535 2f2015 02 17 030913 4 stem and focal wm

By this point, the bottle is starting to take shape and should look something like this.

  5. Small 107535 2f2015 02 17 030918 5 form cap wm

Create the cap for the bottle - add a small bead cap and the 4mm crystal.

  6. Small 107535 2f2015 02 17 030926 6 bend wire wm

Grip the head pin close to the last crystal and bend it at a 90° angle above the pliers to form a neck.

  7. Small 107535 2f2015 02 17 030930 7 create loop wm

Using the round nose pliers, wrap the tail of the head pin around the pliers to form a loop. Make sure the loop is large enough that you can thread the chain through it later on.

  8. Small 107535 2f2015 02 17 030935 8 wrap loop wm

Grip the loop with flat nose pliers and the tail of the head pin with chain nose pliers. Wrap the tail neatly around the neck so that all the components sits firmly with no wobble. Trim the end with flush cutters and tuck the cut end against the neck. Now you're ready to thread the chain through the loop. N.B. You may need to remove the clasp from the end of the chain to do this.
