Ok ive always loved katy perry's taste in jewellery and animal and food themed jewellery in particular, katy aswell as lady ga ga and others have been seen wearing these animal rings and I was bound to get in on the act. I followed my own crafters creed (don't buy anything you could make yourself ). Ok so the hippo ring (the real one ) is around 5 grand encrusted with diamonds, made with silver and was going to be a challenge. so I pulled out every stop to produce a great looking practical replica, its not exact but it screams glam and kitsch. so lets get you started then. this project isnt tough buts its a little fiddly but worth it.

basacailly make a hippo shaped head from polymer clay, bake it , cover it in stick on rhinestones , stick it onto a blank ring done !
