You Will Need

Step 1Draw a leaf template on your piece of paper. I drew a magnolia leaf instead of a maple leaf, but draw whatever tickles your fancy.

Step 2Lay your template on top of the felt and cut out four or five leaves.

Step 3Using your needle and thread stitch along the outline of the leaf; if you want you can stitch down the center of the leaf too. I made about 1 centimeter stitches (.4 inches) about a centimeter apart.

Step 4Using your hot glue gun, glue them down one by one overlapping the leaves a little bit. Make sure to play with the colors, see which colors look best against which colors.
