This is a great project to up-cycle old beads with pretty fabric.
This is a simple DIY that uses pretty fabric, beads and a simple knotting technique to create unique, statement jewellery. Easily adaptable for bracelets and necklaces.

    For this simple up-cycle DIY, you will need some pretty fabric, beads, findings and clasps. There is no tricky technique and the main fastenings are made using a glue gun in this DIY, but you can include sewing if you prefer.

    To start, cut a 30cm length of fabric, with a width of two turns of your chosen bead:

    Divide your fabric by the number of beads to determine where they should sit in the fabric. To enclose the bead, a knot need to be made either side. Create your first, careful to fold the edges into the centre to hide any frayed material:

    Now cover the bead carefully, still hiding the raw edges:

    and create a second knot the opposite side. Pul the knots as tightly as you can and this will enclose the bead securely:

    Add your next bead:

    ...and continue to cover and knot the material:

    ...until all your beads are covered.

    At each end, add a second knot (this will become the fastening for the bell closures).

    To create a bracelet or necklace from the fabric knots, bell closures can secure the fabric.

    Trim the ends and thread a finding through the ends, guiding the other end of the finding through the bell closure. Secure in place with hot glue and leave to dry:

    ...repeat on the opposite end:

    ...and then add your findings and clasps to the length required.
