Use it EVERY year, not just once
I love this, found at http://www.designsponge.com/2010/12/diy-project-vintage-postcard-calendar-journal.html
But because I did this the long way, it took me way too long. But I am making one for work, and since I found a date stamp, I'm sure that will take a lot less time.
How it works: for every time something happens on a particular day you write down the year and what you've got planned. (I add a quick abbreviation of the day so I know that the 3rd of Feb. is a Sunday.) Then when next year rolls around, I don't have to chuck this, I just write down 2014: and what's going on for that day. The best part is when you start running out of room on a day, you only have to remake a card rather than the WHOLE thing. (Because 365 days can take a while to make in one sitting) So instead of buying a new calendar every year, just reuse a cute one for every year!
