In honor of the author
As an addition to my junior thesis on the writing of Eudora Welty, I created a small (11"x11") 'quilt', composed of fabric stitched together. Most of the designs, though, are actually paintings done directly onto the fabric. This includes the center image, the detail on the spines of the books, and the house. Each image represents an aspect of Welty's life; her achievements, her love of gardening and photography, her novels, her attachment to her home town, etc.
