(UK dc) into a magic ring (6 sts). Rounds 2–14: 1 sc (UK dc) into each st of previous round (6 sts). Round 15: inc 1 st twice, 4 sc (UK dc)

  3. Back Legs (make 2) Work in spiral rounds. The rounds are not closed with 1 sl st, nor do you work a turning ch at the beg of a new round. Round 1: using 3mm (D-3/UK 11) hook and Green/Yellow yarn, work 6 sc
(UK dc) into a magic ring (6 sts). Rounds 2–9: 1 sc (UK dc) into each st of previous round (6 sts). Work rounds 10–15 following the instructions for rounds 15–20 of the Front Legs. Secure yarn and fasten off.

  4. Eyes (make 2) Round 1: using 2.5mm (B-1/UK 13) hook and Green/Yellow yarn, work 13 dc (UK tr) into a magic ring. Join in a round with 1 sl st into the first st. Secure yarn and fasten off. Pupil Round 1: using 2.5mm (B-1/UK 13) hook and Black yarn, work 6 sc (UK dc) into a magic ring (6 sts). Join in a round with 1 sl st into the first st. Secure the yarn and fasten off.

  5. Comb Work in rows. Work 1 ch at the end of the row and turn the work. Join Green/Yellow yarn to the middle
of round 20 of the body (the round of raised sc (UK dc), and work along the
top of the chameleon‘s head towards the nose: Row 1: 1 sl st, 1 sc (UK dc), 1 hdc
(UK htr), 6 dc (UK tr), 1 hdc (UK htr), 1 sc (UK dc), 1 sl st (12 sts). Row 2: 1 sl st, 1 sc (UK dc), 1 hdc
(UK htr), 2 dc (UK tr) in 1 st, 4 dc (UK tr),
1 hdc (UK htr), 1 sc (UK dc), 2 sl st (13 sts). Secure the yarn and fasten off.

  6. Finishing off Sew the eyes to rounds 11–16 of the head on the sides so that the comb is right between them. Then sew a pupil to each eye. Using White yarn, embroider two French knots to each pupil, then two semi-circles around the eyes. Sew the first round of each front leg to rounds 24 and 25 of the body using whip stitch. Bend the leg in the middle so it arches towards the tail, and secure to the body with a few stitches. Sew the back legs to rounds 43 and 44 of the body in the same way, with the bend pointing towards the head. Turn the last rounds of the body into a tail, by pressing them together and lightly coiling them. Secure to the body and within the tail with a few stitches.
