I'd gladly make a how-to but there was so much trial and error in the making of this purse that I don't think I'm able to sort out of all my mistakes the right way to do it again.

It's an EVA foam sheet!

Is it just poster board that make it so stiff? So amazing, I want to make my own now.

I forgot to add to the supplies list a sheet of foam (EVA, or something) that I slipped between the outer fabric and the lining to make the purse sturdier yet flexible. The "binding bumps" (don't know how it's called) on the edge are small pieces of cord that I glued to the foam sheet.
