You Will Need (4 things)

  • Dies of your choice
  • Die Cutting Machine
  • Cardstock or tag to emboss
  • Inkpads in colors to match your project

Steps (7 steps, 30 minutes)

  1. 1

Do you find that there are times that you would like to use embossing, but don't have a folder to match your idea? Your answer could be as easy as looking through your dies!

  2. 2

Place your chosen die or dies (you can use one or more) on your die cutting plate with the cutting edges facing down towards the plates. Keep in mind that any time you die cut that your dies press into the plates and leave marks so it will not hurt your plates by having the cutting edges directly facing the plates with this.

  3. 3

Place a piece of cardstock over the dies. You can cover them completely or for a different look only partially cover them so that the design appears to be flowing off the edge.

  4. 4

    Run it through your machine.

Here is what your piece will look like at this point.

  5. 5

Add some color around the edges to make the embossing stand out.

  6. 6

Add it over the embossed area to make it pop for a different look.

  7. 7

The next time you find yourself without the perfect folder, take a look and see if you have a die that will do the trick instead!
