Fancy, embellished shoes can be quite expensive, so here is a great way to turn some cheap shoes into something super stylish.
Fancy, embellished shoes can be quite expensive, so here is a great way to turn some cheap shoes into something super stylish.
Gather your materials. You'll need a cutting board, an art knife, a pencil, fabric glue, toothpicks, paper, black marker, and napkins.
Choose a pair of shoes that you can easily paint on.
Start by drawing out a design of choice or alternatively, look up something online and print it out. You just want to make sure that it will fit on the front of your shoe.
Outline your design in black marker, and photocopy it so you have a couple of back ups.
Use your art knife to cut out your design. Take your time.
Viola! You've created a stencil.
Trace your stencil onto your shoe.
Stuff the inside of your shoe with tissue so it'll make it easier to paint your design.
Use your toothpick to paint your design. This is slow work, but the end result is totally worth it.
Enjoy your finished painted/embellished shoes!
