About

This DIY shoulder accessory was inspired by PS I made it

Need:

Shoulder pads–

Feathers — Peacock and Black is what I used.

Metallic Fabric Paint (I used Lumiere by Jacquard in Pearl Turquoise– and I LOVE this color.)

Gems

Rosette Trim (optional) I had a very hard time finding any thing sim i lar in stores that the orig i nal had, so I bought wed ding floral picks and had intended to cut off the stem and glue the base down. But I ended up not using them because they didn’t look right.

You Will Need (8 things)

  • Glue Gun
  • Safety Pins
  • Rosette Trim
  • 1 packets Shoulder Pad
  • 1 packets Gemstone Beads
  • Peacock Feathers
  • Metallic Paint
  • Tshirt

Steps (9 steps, 90 minutes)

  1. 1

Paint both sides of the shoulder pad and let it dry overnight.

  2. 2

Layer feathers on top of the shoulder pads and glue down with a hot glue gun.

    *Start with larger feathers first*

  3. 3

    *Smaller peacock feathers used*

  4. 4

Added to black feathers to the edges to fill in (ran out of peacock feathers)

    *Picture note shown.

  5. 5

Fill the bottom portion in with gemstones

  6. 6

    Finished shoulder pads.

  7. 7

Secure pads to shirt with safety pins.

*Could also use velcro or snaps if you wanted to sew them on to the shirt AND on to the pads.

*May end up doing this because safety pins are a pain to put on and take off.

  8. 8

    Finished project!

  9. 9

This is how I wore it.

Don't make the outfit to fussy. Let the shirt do the talking.

Pair it with leggings, boyfriend shorts or jeans and simple wedges or flats.
