This is a great use for an old broken frame. Use a scrap of corded lace for a more refined look than raschel gives. Admittedly, this is an old project so the photos aren't really up to scratch. Enjoy though!

Description

This is a great use for an old broken frame. Use a scrap of corded lace for a more refined look than raschel gives. Admittedly, this is an old project so the photos aren't really up to scratch. Enjoy though!

Instructions

  1. Small dscf2068

    Find an old frame as big as you want your brooch to be and remove the glass and back.

  2. Small dscf2069

    Press the clay into the frame and make sure its smooth.

    Remove the clay and allow to dry. Place on the wrong side of the lace and trace around it.

    Cut out your shape and put aside.

    Paint the front and back side of the clay a contrasting colour to your lace and leave to dry. Varnish if you like.

    Glue the lace shape over the clay one.

    Dab some glue around the edges of the shape and reinsert it into the frame.

    Glue a pin back onto the back side.
