    Gather materials.

    Measure and cut elastic. We wrapped it around one shoe and left about a half inch extra for sewing space.

    Make sure you have two identical pieces.

    Stud elastic as shown in video.

    Wrap into a cuff and sew. We burned the edges with a lighter to prevent fraying. Make sure that it's secure!

but wouldn't the elastic start fraying from the friction between the ground and the elastic?
