My dad used to make these for me, he called them 'hole in the bread egg'

It is amazing how different people call it different things. I was told by a former co-worker that they are also called "toad in a hole".

When I was growing up we called it eggs in a basket, lol it is so funny how many different names there are for the same thing!

I've never heard them called egg in a hole, growing up they were one eyed jacks so I think its awesome that theres different names

My boyfriend makes these, but he calls them window eggs, and he "closes the window" by putting the cut out circles on top of the egg when he serves it.
