how to convert an old ugly oversize shirt into comfortable hot pants
hey everyone :)
this are my first hot pants i have ever made...

i m not good at explaining something and especially not in english... i m from germany... but i ll try it :)

hope you like it in spite of my crazy english!

    at first you have to cut of the top of the shirt with the sleeves and the hood (if your shirt has one).

    take the top into a drawer or where ever, but don t into the trash! you ll need it later.

    cut off the seam of the bottom of the shirt.

    put the seam around your hip and look how big or small it shoul be, that you can put it on and out.
    pin a clasp pin, where you need it.
    then close it by sewing.

    cut the waste rest off.

    put the seam around your shirt-bottom. save it with pins.

    now sew both together.

    then you ve got a skirt.

    fold the skirt and put a pin there, where my finger is.

    open the skirt and cut off a triangle.
    the middle of the bottom of the triangle is there were the pin was.

    okay... this step is difficult to explain... i explain it two times: one time in english, the other one in german. if you understand german, please read the second one.

    cut a little round piece out of the top of your shirt.
    save the piece at one side of your pants.
    sew both sides of the triangle together, but don t forget to sew the piece of fabric in.

    Schneide ein kleines rundes Stück aus dem oberen Teil deines T-Shirts aus (der Teil an dem noch die Ärmel hängen ;) ). lege es auf die eine Seite des Dreiecks und befestige es mit einer Sicherheitsnadel.
    Nähe jetzt die beiden Seiten zusammen und arbeite dabei den Stoffkreis so ein, dass ein 'Ei' zwischen den Hosenbeinen entsteht.

    if your pants not short enough for you, you can always cut a piece off, but not now, after these step, because of the seams.

    fold the legs .

    sew the legs tight.

    cut two holes in the front an two other holes each time in the sides of your seam at the top of your pants.

    take the top of your shirt and if it has got a hood yank the string out of it.

    but you can also use every other string.

    put the string into one hole and cram it threw. i don t know how to explain it so well, but this is how it schould look like

That's really cool...and I don't know German but even though you had a few mistakes in your English ,it was easy to follow. Especially with all the pictures. Thanks!

I've taken german class and I just see that you've kind of used some words in a way that we don't, and some of your sentence structure is out of order for english. (I don't know if that helps you at all)

Nice pants! I've made some but I didn't put a waistband on it so they don't stay on.
